If we determine you are in the right place and that chiropractic care is the best treatment option for you, we move onto your Initial Examination.

Frequently Asked Questions

In relation to the treatment of neck and back pain, studies have shown that a course of chiropractic care was 250 times safer than a course of anti-inflammatory drugs(2).
The US Governments’ National Centre for Complementary and Alternative Medicine rated Chiropractic treatment effective and relatively safe for the treatment of lower back pain when performed by a trained and licensed practitioner (3). HOW QUALIFIED ARE CHIROPRACTORS?
Chiropractors are required to complete a 5 year university program to qualify as a Chiropractor. Chiropractors qualify with a bachelors degree and masters degree. They are also one of a selected few professions that are allowed to use the title “Dr” within Australia. Many chiropractors undertake additional courses to diversify their experience and ensure the best tailored treatment protocols are used. Part of the requirement, before graduation, is formal a supervised internship in university and government approved learning clinics. AHPRA is a governmental body that regulates health practitioners. Chiropractors are also regulated by the governmental body AHPRA and are required to be registered with AHPRA.
ARE CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENTS PAINFUL? I’M SCARED OF THE “CRACKING”?
The majority of people describe an adjustment is described as quite relieving and relaxing. The “popping or cracking” noise isn’t bones breaking but rather gasses being released from between the joints when moved. Much like pulling a wet glass off a table.
Chiropractors are skilled at delivering precise and controlled correction to the spine to help restore motion and increase function. Adjustments are generally quick and controlled but shallow, which means its more surprising than anything else. However, our chiropractors are experienced in several techniques which are gentle and low force and don’t involve the “popping and clicking”, so rest assured your care will be tailored to ensure your maximum comfort and safety.
I THINK MY PROBLEM IS MUSCULAR, CAN YOU STILL HELP ME?
Of course! Your nerves that exit from your spine connect to many areas including muscles. When nerves are irritated at the spine, there is spasm and tightening of the muscles that are connected to those nerves. Many people find that once they get adjusted and the nerves are functioning well, the muscles naturally relax. We use soft tissue techniques to further address the muscles and also have a local referral network if further work is needed.
HOW MANY TIMES WILL I NEED TO COME? DO I HAVE TO COME FOR LIFE?
In our office you are always in the drivers seat. Each person is different and it varies on their condition. We tailor a program based on your goals. Like going to the gym, brushing your teeth or cutting your hair, you get to choose the level of care you want and how much benefit you want from your chiropractic care.
IS CHIROPRACTIC SAFE WHILE I’M PREGNANT?
Chiropractic care in pregnancy can be quite beneficial and is safe. From relieving pain to maximizing function of your body. Our chiropractors are trained in caring for pregnant women from conception to delivery. We modify our techniques as your pregnancy progresses and consistently monitor your progress to ensure safety and comfort. We also liaison with your other healthcare providers to ensure you get the best care possible while you carry your little one.
